Job summary

Cornerstone Hospitality Partners of TN is seeking a Line/Prep Cook to assist in food preparation and organization, ensuring high-quality dishes reach guests efficiently. The role supports a busy kitchen and requires attention to portioning, safety, and teamwork.

Responsibilities include following recipes, maintaining inventory, and working with the kitchen team to deliver consistent results in a clean, safe environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking.
• Basic knife skills and knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
• Ability to follow recipes and communicate with the team.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Capable of lifting up to 40 pounds.
• Standing for long periods (up to 5 hours).
• Punctual and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Complete opening and closing checklists.
• Reference the Daily Prep List at start of shift for duties.
• Assist in ingredient prep for cooking.
• Utilize kitchen equipment per standards and needs.
• Ensure portions, cooking methods, and quality standards are met.
• Portion food products prior to cooking according to recipes.
• Maintain fresh ingredients and proper storage to ensure quality and safety.
• Track supplies and rotate stock to minimize waste.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workstation and equipment.
• Work with kitchen team to ensure timely prep and smooth operations.
• Assist chefs and line cooks with grilling, sautéing, and frying as needed.
• Follow food safety guidelines and procedures.
• Attend scheduled meetings and offer improvement ideas.
• Report equipment and quality issues to Chef de Cuisine or GM.
• Inform Chef de Cuisine of shortages.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
