Job summary

Old World Industries is seeking a Line Operator to manage daily production on the assigned line, ensuring safe operation and accurate filling, sealing, and labeling of bottles. You will follow process instructions, monitor fill weights, adjust equipment, and coordinate with packaging teams.

Maintain a clean, safe work area and record production data. Responsibilities include ensuring availability of materials, operating forklifts, adhering to safety policies, and coaching new hires to meet line

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED, or 1-3 years relevant experience.
• Must be a certified forklift operator.
• Ability to interact effectively with co-workers.
• Understand written and verbal work instructions.
• Mechanical aptitude to operate machines safely and perform minor repairs.
• Good judgment and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Ability to work in both union and non-union environments.

Responsibilities

• Safety – abides by all EHS policies and procedures.
• Ensure bottles and boxes are suitable for production and match product.
• Obtain run sheet and document production on the line.
• Ensure correct boxes and bottles are available for production.
• Determine caps, product, and codes required for production.
• Set filler to production mode and calibrate weights.
• Communicate with blending department to use correct piping.
• Take a sample to the lab and ensure product correctness.
• Fill bowl with product and enter correct coder code.
• Engage all belts and ensure conveyors run for packer.
• Maintain caps availability and proper caps.
• Monitor for cap buildup or misfeeds and adjust pressure.
• End-of-run tasks: save cases to drain bowl; remove excess caps.
• Complete changeover procedures and ensure alignment of star and pins.
• Maintain cleanliness of area, machines, and plant.
• Record production data and paperwork for Safety, Production, Maintenance, QA, etc.
• Operate forklift and other material handling equipment.
• Report mechanical/electrical issues to Supervisor/Maintenance.
• Assist and coach new hires on line loading speeds.
• Wear PPE and follow safety regulations.
• Work with line mechanic to repair/adjust when line goes down.
