Job summary

AEP in Pataskala, OH seeks a Transmission Line Mechanic D to assist in installing, maintaining and inspecting overhead transmission facilities. You will operate line trucks, perform climbs, and work from bucket trucks or ladders under supervision.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, no prior experience, travel >50%, overtime availability, and completion of a Physical Abilities Test. A CDL and progression to higher classifications are encouraged; live within 45 minutes of the service

Qualifications

High school graduate or GED.
No previous work experience required.
Line work experience or line school education is preferred.
Employee shall obtain a valid CDL prior to the end of probation.
Must be available to work overtime, call-out overtime and shift work.
Travel requirements > 50% of the time.
Must pass Physical Abilities Test (PAT).
Must be able to climb poles/structures up to 100 ft and work aloft.
Must live within 45 minutes of the Columbia Ctr Transmission Service Center in Pataskala.

Responsibilities

Assist in installation, maintenance, rearrangement, operation, removal and inspection of transmission facilities.
Drive and operate line trucks and associated equipment.
Work from bucket trucks or ladders and be comfortable above ground.
Maintain tools, equipment and work area in orderly condition.
Attend training and assist in training other employees.
