Pearland ISD is seeking a TRANSPORTATION/MECHANIC/PARTS professional to perform major and minor mechanical repairs on District vehicles. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, Texas commercial driver's license, and relevant ASE certifications.
Ideal candidates will possess two or more years of experience in auto/truck maintenance and repair. The position includes a pay rate starting at $22.50 per hour, with additional qualifications required for safety and operational roles.
Perform major and minor mechanical repairs with minimum supervision to ensure proper performance and safety of District vehicles.
Education/Certifications: High School Diploma or GED
Valid license/certification or be able to obtain within 6 months of employment
Two or more years' experience in auto/truck maintenance and repair.
Tools/Equipment Used: Automotive diagnostic equipment, wheel balancing equipment; tire repairing equipment; small hand tools; power tools; welding torch; torque wrench; jack and lift equipment; school bus and district vehicles.
Posture: Frequent standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Motion: Frequent walking; frequent climbing, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving.
Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis.
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, vibration, and electrical hazards; work around machinery with moving parts; may work in tight or enclosed spaces; may work alone; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours.
