About this Role

The Line Manager is responsible for overseeing daily line service operations, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality aircraft ground support. This role provides leadership to Line Service Technicians, coordinates aircraft movements and fueling activities, supports customer service expectations, and ensures all work is completed in compliance with company procedures, FAA regulations, safety standards, and operational requirements.


The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can balance safety, service, urgency, and professionalism in a fast-paced aviation environment.

Leadership & Team Supervision


  • Supervise, coach, and support Line Service Technicians during assigned shifts.

  • Assist with daily task assignments, shift coverage, and workload prioritization.

  • Provide hands-on training for new and existing team members.

  • Monitor employee performance and provide feedback to leadership.

  • Promote a positive, accountable, and safety-focused team culture.

  • Serve as the point of contact for line service team members during daily operations.


Aircraft & Ramp Services


  • Marshal aircraft during arrival and departure.

  • Tow, park, and secure aircraft as needed.

  • Perform fueling and defueling operations according to safety regulations.

  • Conduct pre- and post-flight inspections of fueling equipment.

  • Provide lavatory and water services to aircraft.

  • De-ice aircraft as required during winter operations.


Ground Support Operations


  • Operate ground support equipment (GSE), including tugs, fuel trucks, and baggage carts.

  • Maintain ramp cleanliness and ensure a safe working environment.

  • Assist in aircraft loading and unloading operations.

  • Perform minor maintenance and inspections on GSE.


Customer Service & Communication


  • Assist flight crews, passengers, and maintenance personnel with requests.

  • Communicate with pilots and ground crews to coordinate aircraft movements.

  • Provide concierge-level service for private and corporate aviation clients.


Minimum Qualifications


  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Previous experience in aviation, ground handling, or fueling preferred.

  • Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain an airport-issued badge.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

  • Knowledge of FAA, OSHA, and airport safety regulations is a plus.


Physical Requirements


  • Outdoor, fast-paced airport ramp setting.

  • Exposure to jet engine noise, fuel fumes, and various weather conditions.

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain).
