Atlas Roofing Shingles and Underlayments Division in Meridian, MS is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic “A” to install, repair, and maintain plant equipment and facilities. The role requires reading blueprints, welding, and preventative maintenance, with a focus on safety and teamwork.

Responsibilities

Job description

Atlas Roofing Shingles and Underlayments Division is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic “A” for the Meridian, MS Coated Plant.

Maintenance Mechanic “A” Primary Responsibilities

• Must follow all plant safety and PPE requirements.
• Responsible for installing, repairing, adjusting, troubleshooting and performing preventative maintenance on all types of plant equipment and facility.
• Inspect, dismantle, repair, replace, install, clean and assemble as necessary to maintain equipment/buildings as necessary.
• Use various types of meters and testing equipment.
• Troubleshoot and communicate effectively with supervision and engineering team.
• Interpret blue prints.
• Welding.
• Performs daily inspections and maintains repair logs.

Maintenance Mechanic “A” Experience

• Minimum 2 years verifiable mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment
• One (1) year as a Class “B” Maintenance Mechanic and One (1) year as a Class “C” Maintenance Mechanic

Maintenance Mechanic “A” Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Good organizational skills to process job related data
• Able to provide relevant, clear and timely information
• Able to anticipate needs of the facility and proceed to a solution with minimal direction
• Able to analyze and develop solutions in timely manner
• Must be able to work independently, as well as with the team
• Must have basic mathematical skills
• Must be able to use power tools including electrical testing and measuring equipment

Maintenance Mechanic “A” Education, Licenses & Certifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Certificate of completion from Class “B” and “C” TPC training modules
