Atlas Roofing Shingles & Underlayment is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for Clinton, IA.

Maintenance Mechanic Primary Responsibilities:

• Install, repair, adjust, modify, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance on a variety of plant equipment and facility systems.
• Inspect, dismantle, repair, replace, install, clean, and assemble mechanical equipment and components as needed.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to support equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment issues and communicate findings and recommendations to Maintenance Supervision and Engineering.
• Assist with equipment modifications, improvements, and installations.
• Perform pipe installations, repairs, and modifications throughout the facility.
• Read and interpret blueprints, equipment drawings, manuals, and technical documentation to support equipment installation and repairs.
• Operate and utilize welding equipment, torches, cutting equipment, power tools, and other mechanical maintenance tools.
• Work with the Maintenance Supervisor to maintain appropriate levels of spare parts and backup components for mechanical equipment.
• Complete daily shift inspection and repair logs and communicate relevant maintenance activities and equipment concerns to supervision and other plant personnel.
• Follow all company policies, plant procedures, and safety requirements, including proper use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
• Support and promote a strong reliability culture through proactive maintenance practices and effective communication.
• Work collaboratively with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other plant personnel to identify and resolve equipment issues.
• Promote a positive team environment and appropriately address safety, quality, and performance concerns with peers.
• Attend training and travel as needed based on business and operational requirements.
• Perform any and all other duties as assigned.

Maintenance Mechanic Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, welding, piping, or industrial machinery is preferred.

Maintenance Mechanic Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain industrial equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and equipment documentation.
• Ability to identify equipment issues, evaluate potential causes, and develop effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Ability to organize work, manage priorities, maintain accurate records, and properly manage tools and materials.
• Ability to communicate relevant and timely information clearly and effectively with Maintenance, Operations, Engineering, and other plant personnel.
• Demonstrates initiative and accountability for completing assigned work accurately and within expected timeframes.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to enter information into maintenance systems, spreadsheets, or other electronic records.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic, safely and effectively use hand tools, power tools, measuring equipment, welding equipment, torches, and other maintenance-related tools.

Maintenance Mechanic Education, Licenses & Certifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical training, vocational education, or certification in industrial maintenance, mechanical systems, welding, or a related field is preferred.

Maintenance Mechanic Additional Information:

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the Maintenance Mechanic is regularly required to communicate verbally and hear effectively. The role frequently requires standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, climbing stairs and ladders, grasping, performing fine and gross motor movements, and reaching both forward and above head level throughout the duration of the shift. The employee must be able to work in varying temperature conditions, safely operate assigned machinery, and regularly push, pull and/or lift up to 75 pounds.

Total Compensation:

• Atlas Roofing Corporation offers a competitive compensation and vacation/holiday package as well as a comprehensive benefits program including Medical, Dental, Vision, Life/AD&D/LTD insurance, 401k and Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA).
• Rate of Pay: $26.50 - $32.50
