Qualifications

• Basic fabrication skills using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

Job Summary

A growing manufacturing operation in Chatsworth, CA is hiring Line Maintenance Mechanics for direct hire opportunities supporting high volume liquid filling and packaging production. This is an urgent opportunity for experienced mechanics from personal care, cosmetics, food and beverage, or alcohol manufacturing environments who are ready to join a fast paced, stable, and team oriented workplace. The Line Maintenance Mechanic will install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild production and packaging equipment to keep lines running safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild liquid filling and packaging equipment, including unscramblers, fillers, cappers, crimpers, labelers, inkjet coders, conveyors, pumps, and related machinery.
• Perform production line changeovers, set ups, equipment adjustments, and validations based on the production schedule.
• Support production teams by responding to equipment issues, minimizing downtime, and helping maintain quality and efficiency standards.
• Complete preventive and scheduled maintenance work orders, read equipment manuals and diagrams, and identify parts needed for repairs.
• Build transfer lines, connect pumps, and perform washout and sanitization of filling systems according to SOPs and GMP requirements.
• Assist engineering with line trials, process improvements, equipment upgrades, and minor fabrication projects using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.

Compensation and Benefits

• Pay: $25.00 to $35.00 per hour.
• Job Type: Direct hire.
• Annual bonuses offered.

• 1st Shift: 5:00 AM or 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday, plus overtime on Saturdays.
• 2nd Shift: 1:30 PM or 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM, plus overtime on Saturdays.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Maintain and troubleshoot production line equipment in a liquid filling or high speed packaging environment.
• Perform changeovers, set ups, preventive maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and line support.
• Support production quality, efficiency, safety, and downtime reduction goals.
• Work with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and automation systems.
• 3 to 5+ years of maintenance mechanic experience in liquid filling, personal care, cosmetics, food and beverage, alcohol, or similar manufacturing environments.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills with experience repairing complex machinery and production systems.
• Working knowledge of pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems, automation systems, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
• Experience with equipment such as rotary fillers, inline fillers, tube fillers, cappers, label machines, coders, conveyors, pumps, and other packaging machinery.
• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, P&I diagrams, work orders, and setup documentation.
• Knowledge of Lockout/Tagout, GMP practices, SOPs, and safe maintenance procedures.
• Basic fabrication skills and experience using hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong math, reading, visualization, manual dexterity, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to work well with others, communicate clearly, and perform with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand, walk, kneel, bend, stretch, push, pull, and service machinery for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual skills are a plus.
• Prior experience in personal care, cosmetics, food and beverage, or alcohol manufacturing is strongly preferred.
• Experience in a fast paced, high volume production environment with strong job stability and good work history is preferred.
