Job summary

H2O Innovation Inc. in Gulfport, MS seeks a skilled Line locator to identify underground water and wastewater lines to prevent excavation damage. You will work with utility companies and contractors, manage location requests, and keep equipment in good working order.

The role requires a valid Mississippi driver’s license, 2 years of line locating experience, and a strong emphasis on safety and physical endurance.

Qualifications

• Valid Mississippi driver’s license.
• 2 years of experience locating underground utility lines.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to walk long distances outdoors daily and lift over 40 lbs.
• Ability to read maps/engineering prints.
• Ability to open sewer manhole lids with pry bars and lifting hooks.
• Directional drilling/boring experience is a plus.

Job description

H 2 O Innovation is a leading company in water and wastewater treatment, specializing in innovative water technologies, services, specialty products, and contract operations.

We are seeking a skilled Line locator to join our team in Gulfport, MS. The main responsibilities of the candidate will be to locate underground water & wastewater lines within the system to prevent damage from excavation work performed around the lines.

The Day-to-Day

• Locating water & sewer lines within the system.
• Working closely with other utility companies and contractors to prevent damages to underground utilities.
• Monitoring all location requests and completing requests in a timely and efficient manner.
• Maintaining and safeguarding equipment to keep it in operational condition.

The Skills We Are Looking For

• Valid Mississippi driver’s license.
• 2 years of experience locating or working with underground utility lines.
• High School Diploma/GED.
• Knowledge of work hazards and safety precautions associated with the equipment.
• Ability to walk long distances outdoors daily and lift charges of over 40 lbs.
• Ability to understand maps and engineering prints.
• Ability to open sewer manhole lids using tools such as pry bars and lifting hooks.
• Prior experience with directional horizontal drilling/boring is an asset.

The successful candidate will have to pass through a background check which includes criminal background & motor vehicle report checks, as well as drug & alcohol screenings.
