John F. Martin & Sons, LLC is hiring a Secondshift - Line Lead in the Ham Stuffing Department to oversee production staff and assist the department supervisor. The role focuses on meeting production, quality, and safety goals in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.

Hours are 2:30 pm - 11:30 pm with some mandatory OT; the employee will help plan staffing, monitor yields, and support training while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of lifting 20 to 80 lb bags of recipe spices.
• Ability to use basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.
• Must be able to supervise and train staff when needed.
• Ability to plan staff scheduling and report equipment issues.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all operational and safety-related functions of department equipment.
• Provide input on employee counseling and performance evaluations.
• Assist supervisor with day-to-day production to meet goals.
• Ensure staff meets production, quality, and safety metrics.
• In supervisor's absence, assume duties and oversee staff.

We are hiring for a SECONDSHIFT - Line Lead in our Ham Stuffing Department

Hours are: 2:30 pm - 11:30 pm(with some mandatory OT)

The Line Leader is responsible for assisting the supervisor of the Ham Stuffing Department in overseeing the production team's activities. Will provide the supervisor with input on the employee's counseling and performance evaluations. Additionally, will assist the supervisor with day-to-day production, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Primary responsibility is to ensure that the staff meets their production, quality, and safety goals. In the department supervisor's absence, the leader will assume their duties.

• Responsible for supervising all operational & safety-related functions of company equipment & machinery such as Injectors, Massage Barrels, Masserators, Grinders, Tipper ties, Pallet Jacks, High Lifts, & other production-related machinery.
• Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understand all aspects of company recipes. Must be capable of lifting 20 to 80 lb bags of recipe spices.
• Must be capable of tracking product yields, pump percentages, & formulating meat blocks.
• Must have the ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations to management and other team members of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems.
• Must be able to work/train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.
• Operate machinery & plan staff scheduling/rotation/tasks.
• Report plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.
