Job summary

John F. Martin & Sons, LLC is hiring a Smokehouse Operator for the Stevens, PA location on the first shift. Hours are 5:30 pm to 2:30 pm with mandatory overtime and Saturdays in a full-time role.

The job requires lifting heavy loads,standing for long periods, and working in variable temperatures. Responsibilities include operating the smokehouse, maintaining safety and cleanliness, and completing required production paperwork.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift over 50lbs repeatedly.
• Must be able to push and pull levered weight carts between 25 lbs. and 1,500 lbs.
• Must be able to bend, kneel, squat, reach, and grasp routinely throughout shift.
• Must safely use smokehouse cleaning chemicals and appropriate PPE to clean smokehouse ovens.
• Keeps work area neat, clean, and hazard-free.
• Consistent and reliable attendance.
• Good understanding of health and safety and basic hygiene rules.
• Complete required smoked house documentation paperwork, prevent and minimize rework/inedible.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must stand for long periods (10-12 hours).
• Must work in extreme environments, including refrigerated and high heat (18–100 degrees).

Responsibilities

• Operate smokehouse equipment and assist with daily production.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the smokehouse area.
• Accurately complete required documentation for smoked house processes.
• Support safety policies and use PPE as required.
• Maintain reliable attendance and quality control.
• Collaborate with team to meet production targets.
• Report equipment issues and participate in safety checks.

We are hiring for a FIRST SHIFT - Stevens location

Hours are: 5:30 pm - 2:30 pm (with some mandatory OT & Saturdays)

This is a full-time position. Days and standard hours of work are generally Monday through Friday, with frequent Saturdays and overtime as required.
