Job summary

Stoltzfus Quality Meats (SQM) in Gordonville, PA is hiring a FIRST SHIFT - Line Lead in our Packaging Department to oversee the production team and support the supervisor.

The role focuses on safety, quality, and efficiency in a refrigerated environment, coaching staff, scheduling, and reporting issues to management. Hours are 5:30am–2:30pm with some mandatory OT.

Qualifications

• Experience leading production teams in a packaging/food environment.
• Ability to read recipes and perform basic math in all units.
• Ability to train staff in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.
• Punctual and reliable with consistent attendance.

Responsibilities

• Assist supervisor with operational and safety functions of equipment.
• Schedule staff, plan rotations, and assign tasks.
• Ensure staff meet production, quality, and safety goals.
• Report safety, quality, productivity, and attendance issues to management.
• In supervisor’s absence, perform supervisory duties.

We are hiring for a FIRST SHIFT - Line Lead in our Packaging Department

Hours are: 5:30am - 2:30pm (with some mandatory OT)

Line Leader is responsible for assisting the supervisor of the Packaging Department in overseeing the production team's activities. Will provide to supervisor with input on employee's counseling and performance evaluations. Additionally, will assist the supervisor with day-to-day production, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Primary responsibility is to ensure that the staff meets their production, quality, and safety goals. In the department supervisor's absence, the leader will assume their duties.

• Responsible for assisting the supervisor on all operational & safety-related functions of company equipment & machinery.
• Must be consistent & reliable in attendance.
• Ability to use basic math skills to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Understand all aspects of company recipes.
• Must have the ability to effectively present information in both one-on-one and small group situations to management and other team members of the organization.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and deal with problems.
• Must be able to work/train employees in a fast-paced refrigerated environment.
• Must be able to engage and motivate the production team while setting a professional example.
• Must be able to report to management staff on safety, quality, productivity, and attendance issues from employees.
• Operate machinery & plan staff scheduling/rotation/tasks.
• Report plant machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.
