SMC Ltd. seeks a 2nd Shift Production Operator to work in our Wisconsin facility. You will assist in set-up of work cells, run presses or assembly stations, and collaborate with QA to ensure product quality.

The role emphasizes hands-on manufacturing, adherence to safety guidelines, attention to detail, and timely completion of daily shift reports. Prior plastics production or manufacturing experience is preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and read/write English.
• Experience in production environment preferred, especially plastics.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Work hands-on with Operators to ensure product compliance. Assist the Lead Operator in set-up of work cells (packaging, paperwork, staged components, break coverage, etc.). Work with QA on quality related issues.
• Must be able to successfully run each press or assembly station on the production floor.
• Own and maintain press scrap. Verify that defective parts in (red) defect bins are reported hourly on appropriate metrics (tally sheets, pulse boards) and identified by defect.
• Regular attendance

LIST OF POSITION DUTIES:

• Provide front line leadership ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Set-up work cells and assist in start-up.
• Get packaging for parts, pack parts, weigh parts, make labels, ensure parts are packed properly.
• Support leads with work order changes, pull work instructions/kit books, and replace with correct instructions for new job.
• Assist with daily shift reports in IQ. Ensure production tally sheets are accurate with back counts.
• Negative inventory resolution.
• Work with QA on issues concerning paperwork and part quality.
• Train and update Employees and Temporary Employees on work instructions as required.
• Maintain efficiency, housekeeping, and safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions and to understand, speak and read English.
• Minimum one year of experience in production environment, preferably in plastics.
• Good communication, computer and counting skills.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Must be a team player

ADA REQUIREMENTS:

• Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently.
• Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
• Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks.
• Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to30lbs. occasionally, >20. frequently
• Typically sits, grasps items, or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
• Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection.
