Job summary

SMC is seeking a Line Lead Coordinator for the 2nd shift (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM) at our Somerset, WI facility. You will lead frontline operators, set up work cells, and coordinate with QA to ensure product quality and timely delivery.

Ideal candidates possess a High School Diploma or GED and at least one year in plastics production, with strong communication, computer, and counting skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. This role emphasizes teamwork and safety.

• Negative inventory resolution and QA collaboration on paperwork and part quality.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work hands-on with Operators to ensure product compliance. Assist the Lead Operator in set‑up of work cells (packaging, paperwork, staged components, break coverage, etc.). Work with QA on quality related issues.
• Must be able to successfully run each press or assembly station on the production floor.
• Own and maintain press scrap. Verify that defective parts in (red) defect bins are reported hourly on appropriate metrics (tally sheets, pulse boards) and identified by defect.

LIST OF POSITION DUTIES

• Provide front line leadership ensuring customer satisfaction.

• Train and update Employees and Temporary Employees on work instructions as required.
• Maintain efficiency, housekeeping, and safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as required.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• High School Diploma or GED
• The ability to follow oral and written instructions and to understand, speak and read English.

Minimum one year of experience in production environment, preferably in plastics.

Good communication, computer and counting skills.

Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

ADA REQUIREMENTS

• Stand, walk, bend, squat, twist, reach or otherwise move frequently.
• Occasional repetitive motion and grasping
• Occasional climbing to reach areas on machines or racks.
• Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to30lbs. occasionally, >20. frequently
• Typically sits, grasps items, or performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
• Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards which may require respiratory protection.
