Qualifications

• Must read, write and speak English.
• 12 months tractor-trailer driving experience or trucking school graduate.
• Ability to read, write, speak English and perform basic math.
• Ability to operate a handheld mini-computer.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations (driving, hours, inspection, maintenance).
• Valid Class A CDL with double/triple trailers, tanker, and hazmat endorsements.
• Knowledge of vehicle safety and control systems.
• Around-the-clock availability and ability to be away from home for extended periods.
• Must meet US DOT medical standards.
• Must pass a drug test and, if applicable, an alcohol test.
• Must pass orientation/training by an OD driver trainer.

Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations safely within DOT hours and regulations.
• Meet DOT medical standards and pass drug/alcohol tests.
• Perform pre-trip vehicle inspections.
• Ensure load stability and adjust load distribution as needed.
• Record deliveries using tablets/phones and navigate to destinations.
• Unload freight at delivery points and secure for transit.
