Job summary

Baker Construction is seeking a Line & Grade Instrument Man II to lead precise surveying layout on large concrete projects in the Suwanee, GA area. You will coordinate with the Party Chief and foremen to lay out buildings and control points, ensuring adherence to design tolerances and SQP goals.

The role emphasizes collaboration, safety, and on-site problem solving. The position requires a High School Diploma, 4 years of construction experience, and 2 years in a Line & Grade Instrument role,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 4 years’ construction experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have 2 years’ experience as an Line & Grade Instrument Man I.
• Must be proficient in AutoCAD.
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers and regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for accurately maintaining all physical site dimensions and controls.
• Responsible for accurate layout of building location, structures, and dimensions throughout the project.
• Assists in establishing procedures and coordinating with the client to define primary survey points and transfer building control on the site.
• Establishes secondary control and communicates procedures to individual work crews implements procedures to adequately provide layout methods and check/re-check.
• Provides required data to Party Chief to establish defining points needed in a data collector.
• Calculates and monitors concrete hold quantities on a daily basis.
