Job summary

Baker Power & Process LLC is seeking a Line & Grade Instrument Man II to coordinate layout using surveying equipment on project sites. You will work with the Party Chief, Superintendent, and Foremen to lay out geometry, transfer building control, and support field constructability while maintaining accurate records.

The role requires 4 years of construction experience, 2 years in this line, and proficiency in AutoCAD, along with strong teamwork, communication, and measurement skills to ensure

Qualifications

• HS diploma and 4 years of construction experience.
• 2 years as Line & Grade Instrument Man I.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for layout work.
• Able to work in a team and communicate clearly.
• Knowledge of geometry and trigonometry for measurements.

Responsibilities

• Accurately maintain all physical site dimensions and controls.
• Layout building locations, structures, and dimensions across the project.
• Coordinate with Party Chief to define primary survey points.
• Establish secondary controls and communicate procedures to crews.
• Provide data to the Party Chief for defining points in data collectors.
• Calculate and monitor concrete hold quantities daily.
• Coordinate with Foremen and other trades to resolve conflicts.
• Possibly serve as Party Chief on smaller projects.
• Set up surveying equipment and verify precision of data.
• Review drawings for discrepancies and request clarifications as needed.
• Maintain field notes and as-built documentation.
• Apply project tolerances and ensure safety guidelines are followed.
