Job summary

Ahoy Hospitality LLC on Orcas Island seeks a dependable Line Cook to join our historic hotel kitchen. You’ll contribute to service during busy periods, perform prep and station setup, and help maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in a friendly, ego-free environment.

We require at least one year of line cook experience, a calm, team-oriented mindset, and reliability in a fast-paced kitchen. Opportunities for seasonal and year-round work are available with housing subsidies in some cases.

Line Cook — Orcas Hotel

There’s nothing quite like fall in the San Juan Islands. Join our kitchen team and enjoy living and working in our little island oasis.

Our historic 10-room hotel and café welcome travelers and locals daily, with café service from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. We’re hiring line cooks for late fall and winter, with opportunities for year-round work.

The quieter months are a great time to settle in before spring and summer. We require a minimum six-month commitment and prefer candidates interested in staying through summer 2027 and beyond.

The Role

We’re looking for dependable cooks who value a friendly, ego-free kitchen and take pride in consistency, cleanliness and teamwork. At least one year of relevant kitchen experience is required.

Responsibilities include:

• Line cooking during service
• Prep and station setup and breakdown
• Maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards
• Supporting teammates during busy service

Pay & Benefits

• $18/hour base pay plus participation in the tip pool
• Total hourly earnings typically average around $24/hour during low season and significantly higher in summer; tips vary

About Orcas Island

Orcas Island offers exceptional access to hiking, state parks, beaches and water activities, alongside a strong local community. Our café overlooks the ferry landing and Salish Sea, with regular wildlife sightings.
