Job summary

Ruby Slipper Restaurant Group in New Orleans is hiring a Kitchen Prep Cook to join the Ruby Krewe. Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food and portion items prior to cooking, including plating and garnishing as needed.

Requirements include at least 1 year of kitchen prep or cooking experience, ability to stand for long periods, frequent lifting up to 50 lbs, and clear communication with managers and front-of-house krewe members. We offer days-only schedules and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products and portion items prior to cooking
• Plate and garnish cooked items and prepare appropriate garnishes for hot menu plates
• Follow Ruby Standards and recipes to ensure quality of products
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area

Job Summary:

Accurately and efficiently prepare hot food products as well as prepare and portion food prior to cooking. Responsible for performing other duties in the areas of food and final plate preparation including plating and garnishing of cooked items and preparing appropriate garnishes for all hot menu item plates.

What does it take to be a Ruby Krewe Member?

• A firm belief that butter and bacon make everything better!
• Able to follow Ruby Standards and recipes consistently – responsible for the quality of products served
• Complies with our standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures
• Maintains a clean and sanitary work area
• A minimum of 1 year of experience in kitchen preparation and cooking
• Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, and front of house krewe members
• Be able to reach, bend stoop, and frequently lift up to 50lbs
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours)
