Hai Hospitality's Uchiba Austin is seeking a Line Cook to join our kitchen team and help create amazing dining experiences for guests.

Uchiba Austin offers a competitive hourly wage of $19–$20 based on experience, with benefits including health coverage, a 401k plan with employer matching, and plenty of growth opportunities within the group.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate with guests and team members clearly.
• Detect and address safety issues and follow safety guidelines.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
• Work in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items as a Line Cook in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Assist with stock, inventory, and restocking duties.
• Maintain a neat, organized workspace and proper surface cleaning.
• Move quickly to respond to guest needs and kitchen priorities.
• Collaborate with leadership and coworkers to ensure quality.

Uchiba Austin is accepting resumes for Line Cooks! In this role, you will serve as vital member of our kitchen team to create amazing dining experiences for our guests. We offer gainful employment as well as great opportunities to grow with the organization long-term!

Line Cook wage ranges from $19-$20 based on experience.

Uchiba, borrowing flavors from Uchi, delivers quick bites paired with delicious Japanese cocktails. “ba” meaning bar in Japanese sets the tone for a smaller, more intimate bar experience with the same high-level of food, service and design you’d expect from Hai.

Basic Qualifications

• Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
• Detect and identify safety issues, and comply with safety guidelines and standards
• Lift and carry trays, dishes, equipment, and goods up to 50 lbs, stock inventory, and perform restocking duties
• Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Bend, stoop, and reach to access various areas and items
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
• Lift, push, or pull objects such as tables and chairs to reconfigure seating arrangements
• Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives
• Maintain a neat and organized workspace, including proper storage of supplies and cleaning of surfaces
• Move quickly and efficiently to respond to customer needs
• Ability to work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area
• Tolerate exposure to potential allergens and food odors
• Maintain a professional and hygienic appearance, including proper uniform and personal grooming
• Understand directives and communicate effectively with Leadership and coworkers
