Job summary

Sifted is hiring a Temporary Line Cook in Salt Lake City. The role runs Sunday–Tuesday 10am–6pm in a commercial commissary kitchen, with duties including prep, cleaning, and expediting for service.

The position ends at the beginning of November, offering a starting wage of $20 per hour and company-paid ServSafe certification renewal. The ideal candidate has prior kitchen experience, catering/event service know-how, and strong communication skills, with proficiency in Google apps and Microsoft

Qualifications

• Experience in line cook, prep, or dishwasher roles.
• Experience in catering or event servicing.
• Strong communication skills.
• Familiarity with Google applications and Microsoft Office.

What you’ll be doing

• Cleaning and preparing meats and vegetables
• Stewarding, expediting product out of the door
• Maintaining clear communication with the executive chef and city manager at all times
• Keeping station and work areas clean at all times
• Taking ownership of whatever task is at hand

Our ideal candidate

• Has worked in previous kitchen roles such as line cook, prep/dishwasher
• Has had experience with catering and event servicing
• Has excellent communication skills
• Has a working knowledge of diverse cooking methods, ingredients, and equipment
• Is experienced with Google applications (Gmail, Google Drive), Microsoft Office
