Job summary

Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community is seeking a full-time Line Cook for the Supportive Living Dining Services. This role focuses on high-quality, made-to-order meals while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and delivering excellent resident service.

Shifts vary from 6:00am–2:30pm or 10:00am–6:30pm, with every other weekend and holidays required. Starting compensation ranges from $18.00 to $24.42 per hour, depending on experience, with benefits eligibility and ongoing training

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a food service hospitality environment.
• Prior culinary experience/training is a plus.
• Ability to communicate with residents, co-workers and other departments professionally.
• Time management and attention to detail.
• Serv-Safe certification a plus, or willingness to get certification.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, season, and cook made-to-order food for Supportive Living residents.
• Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and adhere to food safety requirements.
• Ensure meals are ready on time; check flavor, temperature, and seasoning.
• Follow recipes, production sheets, and notes to prepare the correct amounts.
• Present food using proper plating techniques.
• Assist other cooks with prep and special functions.
• Assist in training new team members.

Line Cook - Supportive Living

If you are an experienced line cook, looking for better work-life balance, this could be the opportunity for you! Quarryville Presbyterian Retirement Community is now hiring a Full-Time Cook for the Supportive Living Dining Services Department. This position offers regular hours and every other weekend off. The Line Cook position is essential to our Supportive Living Dining Services team.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to be focused, creative, and follow recipes. Hospitality experience and a passion for food, both quality and presentation, are also critical to this role. We will give you the tools and training you need to be successful!

Starting Compensation Range: $18.00 - $24.42/hour

Dependent upon years of experience in a similar role

Schedule: Flexibility is a must! Shifts may vary between the following.

• 6:00am to 2:30pm
• 10:00am to 6:30pm

Every Other Weekend & Holidays Required

Primary Responsibilities:

• Prepare, season,and cookmade-to-order food for our Supportive Living residents.
• Responsible for maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while always adhering to food safety requirements.
• Ensure meals are ready at the specified times and testfoods being cooked for proper, flavor, temperature, seasoning etc.
• Follow recipes, menu notes and production sheets accurately to prepare the correct amount of each item daily.
• Presentfood using proper plating techniques.
• Assist other cooks with prep and special functions.
• Assist in training of new team members.
• Work in a team-oriented environment and under fast-paced conditions.

Position Requirements:
