Job summary

Grand Living is seeking a Line Cook to enhance the Resident experience through exceptional food production and strict quality control within a fast-paced kitchen. You will work under the Executive Chef to uphold community standards and deliver consistent dishes to residents and guests.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and preferably Culinary Arts training, with 1+ years of experience in scratch cooking and line cook duties. Attractive benefits accompany full-time employment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Culinary Arts or Apprenticeship, preferred.
• 1+ years of experience cooking in a fast paced, cook-to-order kitchen.
• 1+ years of experience with scratch cooking, preferred.
• Sauté and/or broiler experience, preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment and utensils (e.g. knives, spoons, spatulas, tongs, slicers).
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges.

Responsibilities

• As a Line Cook, you will enhance the Resident experience through food production and control of quality and quantity of all items in the station.
• Model The Sterling Touch professional, friendly, courteous, helpful, and timely manner.
• Work under the guidance of the Executive Chef following Community standards, processes, procedures, and philosophy.
