Job summary

Grand Living is seeking a Line Cook to enhance the Resident experience through exceptional food production and strict control of quality and quantity at the line station. You will prepare meats, vegetables, breads, and desserts under the guidance of the Executive Chef, delivering high standards and timely service.

The role emphasizes resident satisfaction, a scratch-cooking environment, and professional conduct aligned with Grand Living's standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Culinary Arts or Apprenticeship preferred.
• 1+ year of experience cooking in a fast paced kitchen preferred.
• Scratch cooking experience preferred.
• Sauté and/or broiler experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand English in order to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull.
• Ability to lift or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion all station items (meats, vegetables, potatoes, bread, desserts).
• Ensure quality and quantity control of all dishes produced at the station.
• Model The Sterling Touch professional, friendly, courteous, and timely service.
• Work under the supervision of the Executive Chef following community standards and procedures.
