Job summary

Grand Living at Tamaya in Jacksonville, FL is seeking a Line Cook to elevate the Resident dining experience through precise food production and strict quality control of items in the station, including meats, vegetables and breads, under the guidance of the Executive Chef. You will embody The Sterling Touch—professional, friendly and timely—providing exceptional service to Residents and guests.

Experience in fast-paced, cook-to-order kitchens and scratch cooking is preferred within a luxury

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship, preferred.
• One or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen, preferred.
• One or more years of experience with scratch cooking, preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language in order to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff, complete requisitions, read recipes and communicate with other employees as well as Residents and their guests.
• Sufficient manual dexterity of hands and arms in order to use all kitchen equipment and utensils (e.g. knives, spoons spatulas, tongs, slicers, etc.)
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods of time.
• Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the overall Resident experience through exceptional food production and quality control of all items in the station.
• Model The Sterling Touch in a professional, friendly, courteous and timely manner to Residents and guests.
• Work under the general guidance of the Executive Chef per Community standards and procedures.
