Job summary

The Springs Resort & Spa in Pagosa Springs, CO is seeking a reliable Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our culinary team. You will support daily prep, execute dishes to standard during service, and maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment.

In a fast-paced, collaborative setting, you will work with the kitchen team to deliver high-quality results while following safety guidelines and production standards. Flexibility for evenings/weekends is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience in a commercial kitchen or high-volume food service desired.
• Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety practices.
• Ability to follow recipes and production standards, with guidance from leadership.
• Strong work ethic and reliability; able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, chop, dice, portion, and prep ingredients per recipes and prep lists.
• Prepare sauces, stocks, dressings, and foundational components.
• Label, date, store, and rotate food following FIFO and safety standards.
• Assist with deliveries and proper storage of products.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep areas, coolers, and equipment.
• Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes and standards during service.
• Monitor food quality, portions, and consistency; communicate shortages.
• Ensure a safe, clean workstation and proper knife/equipment care.
• Follow HACCP guidelines and collaborate with kitchen team to ensure smooth service.
