Job summary

Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure seeks a part-time prep/line cook to join a fast-paced kitchen team. You will assist with daily prep, cook and plate items to recipe standards, and help maintain a clean, organized station.

We value dependable, team-oriented individuals who can stay calm under pressure and adapt to a flexible schedule, including holidays. Experience in hotel/resort settings is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years prep or line cook experience preferred (hotel/resort or similar a plus).
• Food handling certification preferred — or good working knowledge of food safety
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to stay calm under pressure
• Flexible schedule and willingness to work holidays

Responsibilities

• Prep ingredients and assist with daily kitchen setup
• Cook and plate menu items to recipe and quality standards
• Keep your station clean, organized, and stocked
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Work with the team to keep service running smoothly during busy times
• Support the dish area (washing dishes, pots, and pans) during peak service times or when coverage is needed

Located on the beautiful shores of Lake Lure, Rumbling Bald is a private community offering exceptional dining experiences to members and guests. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen and take pride in preparing great food, we’d love to hear from you!

You’ll support daily food prep and line service with a focus on flavor, consistency, and presentation—helping ensure every dish looks great and tastes even better.

This is a part-time position averaging about 29 hours per week. Candidates must be available to work morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
