Job summary

San Diego Mission Bay Resort is seeking a Line Cook for the PM shift to craft dishes for our upscale, high-volume food & beverage outlets. You will plan, prep, and execute quality plates, collaborating with the team to ensure timely service.

Candidates should have basic culinary skills, strong knife work, and a positive, team-oriented attitude. English proficiency and 1–2 years of similar experience are preferred; ability to lift up to 50 pounds is required.

Qualifications

• Comprehensive knife skills, cold & hot line knowledge to include classic knife cuts and multiple cooking techniques.
• Management of special requests and aggressive ticket times is essential.
• Ability to multi-task, team-oriented, positive attitude, flexibility is a must.
• Safe food handling and sanitation is paramount.
• Previous experience in high volume, upscale, from-scratch kitchen.
• English proficiency.
• 1-2 years of previous experience working in a similar setting.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; bend, twist, squat, stoop, reach above head.
• Follow daily checklist and report any issues or challenges to management team.

Responsibilities

The JOB:

As a Line Cook - PM Shift you will get the opportunity to create masterpieces for all our guests to enjoy! Our cooks are the heart of our resort, using their skills and expertise to delight our guests with their culinary creations. Our cooks plan, prep, set up and provide quality service in all areas of food production for our Food & Beverage outlets.

YOU:

To be successful in this position, we're looking for someone who thrives on training and learning as you go. This role requires good communication skills, basic culinary skills and the desire to learn and grow.
