Job summary

Washington National Golf Club is seeking a capable Line Cook to prepare dishes in view of guests, ensuring quality and timely service. You will follow recipes, maintain safety standards, and collaborate with FOH/BOH teams.

The role includes cross-training for POS and occasional beverage service, with an emphasis on knife skills, multi-tasking, and staying organized in a fast-paced kitchen. The position offers a structured work environment with strong standards and opportunities to advance within

Qualifications

• Experience as a short-order line cook, banquet cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook.
• Must have good knife handling skills and the ability to operate standard kitchen equipment.
• Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and commonly known food items.
• Ability to multi-task while remaining focused on key objectives of the position.
• Proficient in all stations of line work and short order cooking.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Washington State Health Card and Mast 12 Alcohol Servers Permit.

• Prepare items efficiently in the order they are received.
• Maintain standards of food quality and daily preparation of fresh ingredients.
• Maintain ingredient par levels for the kitchen and grab and go menu items.
• Ensure food safety regulations and safety standards are always to the highest level.
• Maintain effective communication with FOH and BOH team members.
• Ensure the product is delivered to the guest in a timely manner.
• Ensure proper safe work environment to include OSHA/WISHA compliance.
• Continually look for ways to improve processes and reduce costs.
• Assist with storing delivery items and monthly inventory.
• Uphold a clean and orderly appearance and wear uniform at shift start.

As the Line Cook at Washington National Golf Club, you will work in view of guests to prepare dishes and service patrons with a friendly demeanor and a clean, tidy, and organized manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure recipes, preparation instructions and presentation standards are consistently followed
• Be cross trained to operate the point-of-sale system and prepare and/or serve alcoholic beverages when needed
• Prepare items efficiently in the order they are received
• Maintain standards of food quality and daily preparation of fresh ingredients
• Maintain ingredient par levels for the kitchen and grab and go menu items
• Ensure food safety regulations and safety standards are always to the highest level. Demonstrate knowledge of food and beverage handling guidelines.
• Maintain effective communication with FOH and BOH team members
• Ensure the product is delivered to the guest in a timely manner
• Ensure proper safe work environment to include compliance with OSHA/WISHA
• Continually look for ways to improve processes, procedures and reduce costs
• Assist with properly storing delivery items and monthly inventory
• Must uphold a clean and orderly appearance and be dressed in uniform at the start of each shift
• Other tasks as assigned.

COMPENSATION DETAILS:

• Offered rate of pay range: $20.82 - $20.82 per hour
• Eligible for overtime
• Eligible for tips in addition to regular hourly wage

FOR ON-CALL TEAM MEMBERS:

On-Call team members do not have a set/regular schedule.

On-Call team members are hired to work intermittently, based on their own availability aligning with open shifts. They work fluctuating number of hours per week, including occasional overtime.

Hours are not guaranteed, and hours worked during the summer (busy season) are not an indication of hours available year-round.

As an On-Call team member, you are required to stay in regular contact with your manager to provide the days/times you are available to work.
