Job description

Job Responsibilities
  1. Stage workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
  2. Prepare ingredients, then cook and assemble dishes as indicated by recipes.
  3. Perform portion control and minimize waste to keep costs within forecasted range.
  4. Ensure that all dishes are prepared in a timely manner by restocking ingredients at the workstation and meeting prep times for smooth delivery.
  5. Assist in maintaining the dish machine area.
  6. Maintain a clean and orderly workstation area, including kitchen equipment, tables, shelves, and trash.
  7. Comply with applicable sanitary, health, safety, and personal hygiene standards.
  8. Ensure quality and freshness of ingredients and products.
  9. Able to perform tasks with accuracy, speed, and attention to detail.
  10. Able to read and follow cooking directions.
  11. Complete opening and closing tasks.
  12. Assist with functions and events.
  13. Interact professionally by using Spare Time Service Standards (Code S.E.R.V.E.).
  14. Perform additional tasks as assigned by line kitchen management.
  15. Communicate with reporting manager regarding low inventory items and sanitation or maintenance concerns.
  16. Report all violations to management.

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Culinary Degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience cooking in a restaurant, hotel, or resort.
  • SERVSafe certification preferred.
  • The noise level can be loud and may include lighting effects such as lasers and strobes.
  • This role operates in a professional kitchen environment and may be guest-facing. Standard kitchen equipment such as fryers, ranges, ovens, and other appliances are routinely used.
  • Exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibration, hot surfaces, sharp cutlery, and temperature variations is common.
  • This position involves working with large crowds and children.
Physical Demands

The physical demands include:

  • Standing and walking for extended periods and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Long hours and frequent weekend work are required.
