Job summary

American Social - Fort Lauderdale is hiring a food service professional to join our kitchen team. You will read order tickets, prioritize order pacing, and prepare food using recipes and proper portions to ensure guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include monitoring stock, maintaining plate presentation and sanitation, and communicating clearly with guests and coworkers. Night shifts may be required, and a food handling certificate is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 years.
• Ability to work Late Night shifts, potentially between 12 AM–3 AM.
• Works assigned scheduled shifts.
• Fluent in English (read, write, speak).
• Ability to transport items up to 30 pounds.
• Remain in stationary position for up to 4 hours during shift.
• Communicate effectively with guests, management and coworkers.

Responsibilities

• Read order tickets and determine items to prepare.
• Prioritize cooking and preparation times to ensure guest meals are properly paced.
• Prepare food items using recipes, proper portions, and cooking standards.
• Monitor product supply and replenish stock as needed.
• Ensure proper plate presentation, portioning, and adherence to recipes.
• Use proper cooking equipment to prepare food items and complete orders.
• Maintain station cleanliness and sanitize surfaces and tools.
• Collaborate with team and provide timely communication throughout the shift.
• Conduct weekly maintenance and complete tasks assigned by managers.
