Job summary

Grand Living is seeking a Line Cook in Lake Mary, FL to enhance the Resident experience through high-quality food production. The candidate will prepare a variety of items, ensuring consistency and portion control, under the direction of the Executive Chef.

The role requires a high school diploma (or GED), preferred culinary training, and prior experience in a fast-paced kitchen. The position offers full-time hours with generous benefits and a supportive team atmosphere.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, required.
• Culinary Arts or Culinary Apprenticeship, preferred.
• One or more years of experience cooking in a fast paced, cook to order kitchen, preferred.
• One or more years of experience with scratch cooking, preferred.
• Ability to read, write and understand the English language to direct, manage, hire and train kitchen staff.
• Sufficient manual dexterity to use all kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, crouch, bend, stoop, reach, grasp, push, pull and work continuously without sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to lift or carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform all essential functions within varying temperature ranges.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and portion food across stations including meats, vegetables, breads and desserts.
• Maintain The Sterling Touch by delivering professional, friendly and timely service.
• Work under guidance of Executive Chef following community standards and procedures.
