Job summary

Schweitzer is seeking a Seasonal cook to prepare a variety of cafe dishes, including breakfast, lunch and dinner. The role emphasizes quality, freshness and strict health and safety standards in a fast-paced kitchen.

You will cook on a busy line, handle multiple preparation tasks, and work with various cooking methods while maintaining a clean, safe, and well‑stocked station. This seasonal position offers flexible hours and friendly, inclusive culture.

Qualifications

• Idaho Food Safety Certification required or training provided.
• Food preparation and line-cook skills with multiple methods.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Execute all food prep tasks following recipes and quality standards.
• Cook and assemble items for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on the line.
• Ensure consistent plating and presentation across dishes.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintain health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
• Keep workstation clean, organized and stocked at all times.
• Monitor inventory and notify leadership of supply needs.

Position Summary

Seasonal position focused on preparing and cooking a variety of food for the cafe, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. This role requires working in a fast-paced environment and involves a strong emphasis on quality, freshness, and adherence to health and safety regulations.

Essential Functions And Major Responsibilities

• Execute all food preparation tasks, including chopping vegetables, portioning meats, and preparing sauces, in accordance with established recipes and quality standards.
• Efficiently cook and assemble a variety of menu items-including breakfast, lunch, and dinner-on a cooking line. Must be proficient with a variety of cooking methods like grilling, frying, and sautéing.
• Ensure all dishes are consistently prepared to meet the cafe's standards for quality and visual presentation.
• Operate all kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
• Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and cleaning procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workstation always, to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Monitor inventory levels at your station and communicate any needs for supplies or ingredients to kitchen leadership.

Specific Job Skills

• License/Certifications - Idaho Food Safety Certification (training provided)
• Technical - Cooking Skills/Basic kitchen skills
• Physical Capabilities - Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per shift. Will lift up to 25lbs frequently, up to 50lbs occasionally.
• Additional - Exposed to fumes, odors, mechanical and burn hazards.
