Job summary

Applebee's Neighborhood Grill + Bar in Ames invites a Line Cook to join our kitchen team. You will be responsible for your assigned prep work and cook's station, while maintaining high standards for product presentation and quality, and you will cross-train across kitchen roles.

Responsibilities include preparing menu items per recipes, completing prep, setting up stations, and upholding sanitation, with daily and weekly cleaning tasks to support smooth service.

Qualifications

• A positive attitude and desire to learn and grow.
• Reading, writing and verbal communication skills required.
• Capable of using knives, slicing equipment and other food prep equipment.
• Mobility required during the entire shift.
• Transports cases up to 50 pounds up to 20 times per day.
• Able to respond in emergency situations to avoid imminent dangers to self and others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare menu items according to Applebee’s recipes, plate presentations and specifications.
• Complete all assigned prep work.
• Set up workstation according to station diagram.
• Practice sanitary and safe food handling at all times.
• Clean and sanitize the work area before, during and after shift.
• Complete assigned daily and weekly cleaning projects.
