Job summary

The Orchards Health Center is seeking a Cook II Line Cook to join our team. The position supports food preparation per standardized recipes and contributes to a safe, high-quality dining experience in a healthcare setting.

The role is a full-time shift Tuesday through Saturday, 6:00am to 2:30pm, offering benefits including PTO, holidays, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k with employer match, tuition assistance, and commuter reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Three years’ experience as a cook in hotel, restaurant, retirement community or healthcare setting.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Adheres to safety procedures and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve all food items per standardized recipes (sauces, sautés, boils, braises and roasts; fries, steams, grills, bakes; short order cooking).
• Prepare and serve meals per physician orders when applicable.
• Prepare various meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables and other items with high quality control.
• Assist in daily prep, functions, banquets, catering, holidays and events.
• Stock and maintain adequate food at line stations for smooth service.
• Plan production to align with meal serving hours and inventory needs.
• Follow safety procedures when using kitchen equipment and maintain hygiene standards.
• Comply with sanitation regulations and infection control standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Chefs or supervisor.
• Prepare therapeutic meals as applicable (puree, mechanically chopped).
• Follow dietitian production sheets for skilled nursing environments.
