Job summary

Dave & Buster's is seeking a Line Cook in New York, NY to prepare and cook menu items per recipes, maintain high quality, and uphold cleanliness and safety standards. You’ll work with the service team to ensure dishes are accurate, fresh, and delivered promptly, while adhering to all health regulations and company protocols.

Ideal candidates have at least 6 months of Line Cook/Prep Cook experience, are 18+, and hold a Food Handlers Certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience as Line Cook or Prep Cook.
• 18+ years of age; Food Handlers Certification as required.
• Must comply with company uniform standards.
• Be ready to create a memorable guest experience.
• Teamwork is essential; collaboration with team members.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Able to communicate effectively with management, team, and guests.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
• Prepare and cook all menu items per recipes and standards.
• Minimize food waste by proper portions and monitoring tickets.
• Coordinate with service team to ensure timely, fresh dishes.
• Follow all health and safety procedures.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Maintain a clean, stocked station before, during, and after shifts.
• Fulfill opening, mid-day or closing duties as assigned.

As a Line Cook, you are passionate about our ingredients, food quality standards and delivering a consistent Guest experience! You are an expert on our prep and spec recipes, operational standards, equipment and utensils. You're also dedicated to delivering the highest standards in safety and sanitation.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING DAILY?

• Upholding our cleanliness and safety standards (We take this seriously!)
• Prepping and cooking all menu items according to recipes standards
• Helping minimize food waste by creating proper portions, staying vigilant for ticket errors, and communicating with expo
• Partnering with the service team to ensure food is accurate, delivered fresh and in a timely manner
• Adhering to all company and health department food safety procedures
• Properly and safely operating kitchen equipment
• Maintaining a clean and stocked station before, during and after each shift
• Performing opening, mid-day or closing duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must have at least 6 months of Line Cook and/or Prep Cook experience
• 18 + years of age; Food Handlers Certification, as required
• Comply with the company uniform standards
• Always be ready to create a memorable guest experience
