Job summary

Dave & Buster's Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Line Cook who is passionate about quality ingredients and guest experience. You will prep, cook and plate items according to recipes, while maintaining safety and sanitation standards.

Responsibilities include teamwork with servers, minimizing waste, and ensuring timely delivery of hot, delicious meals in a fast-paced environment. Must meet age and certification requirements and be available to work varied shifts.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of Line Cook/Prep Cook experience
• Must be 18+ years old; Food Handlers Certification as required
• Must comply with uniform standards
• Ability to create a memorable guest experience and work well in a team
• Strong communication with Management, Team Members and Guests
• Ability to work under pressure and maintain quality

Responsibilities

• Uphold cleanliness and safety standards.
• Prep and cook menu items according to recipes and standards.
• Minimize food waste by proper portions and accurate tickets.
• Collaborate with the service team to ensure timely, fresh dishes.
• Follow all health department procedures and safety protocols.

At Dave & Buster’s/Main Event Entertainment, our Line Cooks prepare unforgettably delicious food that keeps our Guests coming back for more! As a Line Cook, you are passionate about our ingredients, food quality standards and delivering a consistent Guest experience! You are an expert on our prep and spec recipes, operational standards, equipment and utensils. You’re also dedicated to delivering the highest standards in safety and sanitation.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING DAILY?

• Upholding our cleanliness and safety standards (We take this seriously!)
• Prepping and cooking all menu items according to recipes standards
• Helping minimize food waste by creating proper portions, staying vigilant for ticket errors, and communicating with expo
• Partnering with the service team to ensure food is accurate, delivered fresh and in a timely manner
• Adhering to all company and health department food safety procedures
• Properly and safely operating kitchen equipment
• Maintaining a clean and stocked station before, during and after each shift
• Performing opening, mid-day or closing duties as assigned

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

• Must have at least 6 months of Line Cook and/or Prep Cook experience
• 18 + years of age; Food Handlers Certification, as required
• Comply with the company uniform standards
• Always be ready to create a memorable guest experience
• Teamwork is a must (Remember, teamwork makes the dream work!)
• Attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure
• Can effectively communicate with Management, Team Members, and Guests
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays (subject to business needs)
