Position Summary

Events by RHC is looking to hire experienced Line Cooks. This role pays an hourly wage of $24 to $29.

For full-time roles: Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 11 holidays).

About the Venue

EVENTS BY RHC is a boutique off-premise caterer based in New York City. Inspired by international cuisine, modern dining, and exceptional service, we bring a modern take to event dining. Our brand is built on knowledgeable and passionate people offering impeccable service, deliciously different menus, and a creative culture.

Responsibilities
  1. Assist the Culinary Management team with food preparation as assigned.
  2. Maintain a working knowledge of food preparation for standard menu items.
  3. Properly store and label food.
  4. Ensure stations are prepped and ready for service.
  5. Understand kitchen equipment and its operation.
  6. Maintain a clean work environment, including floors and passages.
  7. Clean kitchen and equipment as assigned.
  8. Help keep all food storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers organized and clean.
  9. Perform duties in accordance with NYC Department of Health standards.
  10. Attend staff meetings and in-services as required.
  11. Perform other duties as assigned.
  12. Assist with prep cooking and special events.
Qualifications
  1. At least 2 years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high-volume, fast-paced NYC kitchen (or comparable).
  2. Professional work ethic.
  3. Effective communication skills and ability to follow directions.
  4. Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment.
  5. Excellent knife skills and proficiency in detailed cooking.
  6. Ability to work independently and proactively solve issues.
  7. Knowledge of health department food safety and sanitation standards.
  8. Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
