Position Summary

Events by RHC is looking to hire experienced Prep Cooks.

This role will pay an hourly wage of $20 to $23.

About the Venue

Events by RHC is a boutique off-premise caterer based in New York City. Inspired by international cuisine, modern dining, and exceptional service, we bring a modern take to event dining. Our brand is built on knowledgeable and passionate people offering impeccable service, deliciously different menus, and a creative culture.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Culinary Management team with food preparation as assigned.
• Ensure stations are prepped and ready for service.
• Understand kitchen equipment and its operation.
• Maintain a clean work environment, including floors and passages.
• Clean kitchen and equipment as assigned by Culinary Management.
• Keep all food storage areas, refrigerators, and freezers organized and clean.
• Perform duties in accordance with NYC Department of Health standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of experience as a prep or kitchen assistant in a high-end, high-volume, fast-paced NYC kitchen (or comparable).
• Professional work ethic.
• Effective communication skills and ability to follow supervisor instructions.
• Ability to work in a clean, organized, and efficient manner under pressure.
• Excellent knife skills and proficiency in all aspects of cooking.
• Ability to work independently and proactively solve issues.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards per the Health Department.
• Ability to lift, pull, push, and carry up to 30 pounds; stand for extended periods.
