Ginger Cove is currently seeking Full-Time Line Cookto support our Culinary Services department.

The Line Cook is responsible for working in accordance with established policies and procedures, and/or specific instruction from the Director of Culinary Services or Executive Chef. Performs a variety of cooking duties, including food preparation, prepping ingredients, arranging and garnishing dishes, and checking ingredients for freshness. Maintains safety and cleanliness of work area by adhering to sanitation standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the preparation of all menu items as determined by the day’s menu.
  • Prepares for following day’s menu and discusses daily menu with Wait staff.
  • Ensures quality of food is maintained and sanitation standards are met.
  • Keeps accurate temperature log.
  • Prepares soups and sauces for the day.
  • Assists Expediter in ensuring that quality and appearance of each plate is maintained.
  • Plates meals for residents and serves consistent portion sizes.
  • Maintains food cost by watching waste.
  • Assists Dietary Aide with Health Center meals.
  • Serves hot breakfast to Health Center and Assisted Living residents, when assigned.
  • Prepares food for functions.
  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behaviors set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting possible concerns.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to the position.
  • Adheres to the Organization’s policies and procedures regarding Privacy and Security in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Must be familiar with and complete training relating to Risk Management.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Job Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Culinary school education:two or four-year degree preferred.
  • Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation services.
  • Thorough experience in hot and cold food preparation.
  • Good working knowledge of sanitation and safety guidelines
  • Experience in long-term care setting or related health care field preferred.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Must present self in a professional manner.
  • Most possess concern, responsiveness, and tact when dealing with others.
  • Must be able to work collaboratively with others to help colleagues to achieve respective goals for creating wellness opportunities and experiences for our residents.
  • Must have completed or be willing to complete educational requirements imposed by State regulations within the specified time frame.
