Job summary

Canonita Lake Nona, a full-service neighborhood Mexican restaurant and bar, is seeking a Line Cook to join opening team in a fast-paced environment. You will prepare and plate menu items following recipes, maintain clean stations, and work with the kitchen team to deliver consistent quality.

Prior hospitality experience is preferred; must read and follow recipes, communicate clearly, and uphold grooming standards in a busy setting.

Qualifications

• Education: High School; ability to read and follow recipes and food production procedures
• Experience: Previous hospitality experience is preferred
• Other Requirements: Able to read and follow recipes and food production procedures

Responsibilities

• Maintain proper grooming and uniform standards
• Communicate with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef about features, events and shift information
• Prepare food based on daily needs and recipes
• Adhere to allergy sensitivity protocol
• Set up and maintain the station with correct products and utensils
• Monitor product levels and restock when necessary
• Cook food in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction
• Check dishes for proper plate presentation, quality, and temperature
• Clean and sanitize work area including counters and preparation surfaces
• Ensure proper equipment temperatures for storage
• Change sanitizer regularly to maintain a safe environment
• Demonstrate professional demeanor at all times
• Perform opening, running, and closing duties
• Perform other duties as assigned by management team
