Qualifications

• 18+ years old
• 1–2 years of high-volume restaurant experience
• Strong work ethic and guest-focused service
• Ability to work fast-paced kitchen
• Solid culinary fundamentals, including mise en place and knife skills
• Detail-oriented with cleanliness and food safety
• Ability to take direction and work collaboratively
• Food handler certification as required by state/local regulations
• Desire to learn and grow within Vandelay’s culinary program

Responsibilities

• Execute all menu recipes with precision and consistency.
• Prepare dishes according to guest requests, portion guidelines, temperatures and timing standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station throughout service.
• Prioritize and manage multiple tickets during high-volume periods.
• Collaborate with culinary team and front-of-house partners to support smooth service.
• Follow proper cooking techniques, knife skills, and equipment usage for quality and safety.
• Uphold plate presentation standards for Vandelay’s expectations.
• Assist with daily prep, stock rotation, and storage to maintain freshness and consistency.
• Execute opening, mid-shift, and closing procedures as per kitchen guidelines.
