Job summary

Sports & Social Cary is seeking a Cook to join a fast-paced kitchen in downtown Cary. You will prepare and cook orders for daily operations, control waste, and restock as needed to keep the line moving.

Maintain sanitation and cleanliness, assist with inventory, and coordinate with other departments. Evening/weekend shifts may be required; culinary certification is preferred, with previous line cook experience.

Qualifications

• At least one year experience on a fast-paced kitchen line.
• Culinary certification or training preferred.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of cooking, following recipes, portion control, and presentation.
• Communication skills are used with cooks, wait staff and supervisors.
• Reading/writing for recipes, scheduling and inventory and basic math for portions and variances.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook orders for daily operations.
• Control food usage to minimize waste.
• Advise supervisor of low inventory items; assist in receiving and inventory.
• Restock items as needed through the shift.
• Maintain sanitation and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and equipment.
• Promote teamwork and quality service; may interact with guests.
• Perform more than one task at a time.
