Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Culinary school 2–4 year degree preferred.
• Hot line experience preferred.
• Prior experience in related food and beverage service and food preparation positions.
• Thorough experience with hot and cold food preparation.
• Ability to use slicers, mixers, grinders, food processors, etc.
• Strong working knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety and sanitation practices.
• Able to handle work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work in a team.
• Very good communication skills.
• Physical ability to meet the demands of the job including lift and carry up to 30 pounds, frequent standing, stooping, squatting, twisting, and moving, ability to stand for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to pass a food service sanitation course.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow recipes.

Responsibilities

• Come to work in proper uniform - chef coat, pants, nonslip shoes.
• Clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, and utensils.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation workstations.
• Assist in the food preparation process by cutting, chopping, slicing, and washing vegetables, meats, and other ingredients.
• Follow all food health and safety requirements.
• Assist with the unloading of deliveries and their proper storage.
• Communicate kitchen needs to supervisors.
• Interact with customers as needed.
