Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is a plus but not required.
• Previous prep or line cook experience is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of professional cooking techniques and food knowledge.
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation and proper food handling procedures.
• Excellent communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the station in time for service according to restaurant guidelines.
• Prepares all food items as directed in a sanitary and timely manner.
• Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the chef or restaurant.
• Restocks all items as needed and takes inventory after service.
• Cleans and maintains stations with safety and sanitation in mind.
• Operates and maintains equipment in the station.
• Assists with cleaning, sanitation and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and storage areas.
• Performs additional tasks as requested by the Chef and Sous Chef.
