Job summary

Windrose on Hudson, a Riverside Conference Experience near New York City, is seeking a Cook to join our culinary team. You will help the Chef in production, craft menus reflecting seasonal availability, and contribute to a high-energy kitchen in a historic setting.

The ideal candidate has professional kitchen experience, a Food Handler certification, and a passion for quality ingredients. We offer growth, teamwork, and the chance to develop skills under culinary leadership.

Qualifications

• Active Food handler’s certification or the ability to obtain it.
• Able to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Able to stand for long periods.
• Able to lift at least 50 pounds.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Energetic personality and desire to exceed expectations.

Responsibilities

• Develop knowledge of cooking procedures and methods (grill, sauté and fry).
• Experience using knives and kitchen equipment.
• Reach and recreate recipes with consistency.
• Maintain a sanitized and orderly kitchen environment.
• Assist Chef in production for kitchen, cafeteria, banquet, dining and fine dining.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to create menus reflecting seasonal availability.
