Job summary

The Madison Club in La Quinta, CA is seeking a Line Cook to join its luxury dining team. You will prepare dishes, stock your station, and ensure recipes are followed accurately while maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of full-service restaurant experience and a CA Food Handlers Card, with solid food-safety knowledge. Shifts include evenings, weekends, and holidays in a high-end setting.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of full-service restaurant experience as a Line Cook or relevant position preferred.
• Possess CA Food Handlers Card (FHC) - Must obtain certification within 7 Days of Hire.
• Understanding food safety, sanitation, and ServSafe practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
• Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and verbal instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Continuously create and present new ideas to Executive Chef.
• Stock the kitchen with raw materials and ingredients daily.
• Master all basic cooking methods.
• Acquire ingredients daily for assigned station.
• Help and prepare food items as per standard recipe cards whilst maintaining portion control and minimizing waste.
• Maintain and clean equipment on a regular basis.
• Promptly report hazards or equipment needing repair/maintenance.
• Attend department meetings as necessary.
• Adhere to all Department of Health food & safety standards.
• Comply with company and department policies and procedures at all times.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned by Management.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and storage areas at all times.
• Execution of recipes and ability to follow recipes and house-made ingredients promptly and efficiently.
• All food should be plated and presented accordingly.
• Demonstrate sense of urgency for guest needs during interactions.
• Any other duties as assigned.
