Job summary

El Fenix in Mesquite, TX is seeking an entry-level kitchen team member to prepare and assemble dishes according to brand standards, maintain high quality, and actively contribute to the operation every shift. You will stock, portion, and cook a variety of foods, keep the kitchen clean and safe, follow plate presentation and safety policies, and work as a cooperative team player.

Qualifications

• Must be a certified Food Handler in respective state.
• Able to work in hot, wet, humid and loud environments for long periods.
• Able to stand for long periods (up to 8 hours).
• Capable of lifting bags, cases, and stacks up to 40 pounds multiple times per shift.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 17 years of age.
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and work well with others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables and other items per brand standards.
• Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food on line stations for smooth service.
• Portion food according to standard sizes and recipes.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station and equipment.
• Follow plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
• Assist in food prep during off-peak periods as needed.
• Close the kitchen properly and assist others with closing duties.
• Adhere to safety laws and Company safety policies.
• Report unsafe conditions to management.
• Ensure all dishes and equipment are clean, sanitized, and organized.
• Be a team player and share the love of the FRG Brands.
