Job summary

Elephants Delicatessen in Portland, OR is seeking a dynamic Line Cook to join our guest-focused kitchen. You’ll prepare food to recipe, observe sanitation standards, and work with a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment that values quality and fresh local ingredients.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and/or Culinary Degree is required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen, preferably with flat top grill.
• Genuine passion for hospitality and team development.
• Strong communication and organization skills.
• Ability to stay composed and solution-oriented under pressure.
• High standards for cleanliness, safety, and operational excellence.
• Reliability, accountability, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide exemplary customer service: task pivot and converse with customers.
• Engage in active selling.
• Sale and promotion of products; Help direct customers around the store and menu.
• Maintain excellent product knowledge.
• Produce all food precisely according to Elephant's recipes.
• Properly use equipment as specified by Manager and trainer.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Cross-train in various BOH roles.
• Reinforce service, sanitation, and food safety standards; monitor workflow and pace during peak hours.
• Address guest concerns with professionalism and urgency.

Location & Transportation: Reliable transportation is required. Due to our locations, dependable transportation to and from our stores is essential.
