OVERVIEW:
The Line Cook at Boca West Country Club plays a crucial role in our culinary team, ensuring the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes in a fast-paced kitchen environment. You will work closely with chefs and other kitchen staff to deliver a memorable dining experience to our members and guests. This position requires a passion for cooking, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Set up and stock workstations with all necessary ingredients and cooking equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all dishes are prepared in a timely manner and meet health and safety standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including workstations, cooking equipment, and storage areas.
- Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and trends.
- Monitor inventory and ingredient levels, communicating any shortages to the kitchen manager or executive chef.
- Follow food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.
- Support other kitchen staff in various culinary tasks as needed, including prep, plating, and cleaning.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance cooking skills and culinary knowledge.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or certification preferred.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Dexterity and strength to operate kitchen equipment.
